Voter’s Awareness activities through Nukkad Nataks held in Kishtwar

Kishtwar,03-05-2023:
District Administration Kishtwar under the aegis of District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner), Dr Devansh Yadav, IAS conducted a series of awareness activities across the district under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Programme during the ongoing Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls (SSR).




During the mega awareness events being held in all the three assembly Constituencies of district Kishtwar wherein hundreds of students, staff, PRIs, and the general public took part in the SVEEP activities to ensure maximization of eligible electors who have attained the age of 18 years as on 01-04-2023.Besides, Several SVEEP activities are underway in district Kishtwar like conducting symposiums, debates, rangoli competitions, rallies in colleges and other educational institutions and so many other activities pertaining to awareness of youth, women and PwDs is on rise in district Kishtwar.




Nukkad Nataks as part of the SVEEP activity is presently being undertaken at prominent locations with heavy foot fall across the district wherein a professional team is sensitising the masses especially youth and women to get registered during this ongoing SSR and emphasizing them to verify their entries in the electoral rolls as the last date of accepting claims and objections is 6th of May, 2023 in the J&K UT. Besides getting registered the already existing electors are appealed by Nukkad Natak team to verify their particulars with regard to their name, address and age. Stress is being put to aware the public to get registered via online mode which is simple as electors need not to travel to ERO/AERO/BLO offices for the same. The awareness about online portals of Election Commission of India like www.nvsp.in and Voter Helpline app is also being undertaken on priority and public in general especially youth is being sensitised about the same.




Mobile Van equipped with audio System and relevant forms like Form-6 etc is also roaming across the district Kishtwar in all the three assembly constituencies to create awareness among public and give a message of voter registration and its importance.
Pertinent to mention here that all the three Electoral Registration Officers namely Sh. Inderjeet Singh Parihar for AC 49-Kishtwar, Shri Varunjeet Charak for AC-48 Inderwal, and for AC-50, Padder-Nagseni,Sh Rishi Sharma are working round the clock and monitoring by visiting each and every polling station especially on Special Camp days to ensure the registration of eligible youths besides sensitising the masses along with AEROs at micro level (Booth level) with the sole motive to improve the health of Electoral roll especially enhancing its EP ratio, Gender ratio and other parameters given by authorities under the overall superintendence of District Election officer Kishtwar.
