First-of-Its-Kind, Sanitary Napkins Unit “Femella” of JKRLM Inaugurated in Kishtwar

A significant step towards women empowerment and hygiene was taken today as the District Development Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav, inaugurated first of its kind sanitary napkins unit named “Femella.”



The unit is managed by female members of Self Help Groups (SHGs) affiliated with the JK Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKRLM) in Kishtwar.

The inauguration event saw the presence of Chief Medical Officer, Mr. Yaqoob, along with his staff members, District Program Manager of JKRLM, Mr. Bilal ur Rehman, and other officials.



The female members of the SHGs also participated enthusiastically.

This initiative is a testament to the unwavering support extended by the District Administration to uplift and empower the SHG members of Kishtwar. The establishment of various livelihood generation units in the past is evidence of this commitment.

The “Femella” sanitary napkins unit is a pioneering effort in the district, aimed at addressing women’s health and hygiene needs while providing an avenue for economic empowerment. By involving the female SHG members in its management, the unit ensures a community-driven approach to development.
