District Administration today took stock of the progress in the vaccination of school staff and students of the age of 15 years and above besides reviewing the other arrangements ahead of the re-opening of schools in the district after an inevitable long gap due to COVID 19 pandemic.
In this regard Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ashok Kumar Sharma today chaired the meeting of the Education and Health officers/officials here at Conference Hall DC Office complex Kishtwar.
Additional District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Sham Lal, Chief Education Officer Kishtwar Prahlad Bhagat, District Immunisation Officer Kishtwar Dr. Chander Kumar, BMOs, ZEOs, Principals besides Heads of various govt and private schools attended the meeting.
At the outset Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar reviewed the status of vaccination of age-appropriate students and staff of the schools and other educational institutions.



He directed the Head of various educational institutions to work in synergy with health authorities to complete the vaccination of left out students so that the schools shall be re-opened with due observance of Modal Covid environment and Modal teaching environment.
Stressing the safety of students, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar directed Chief Education Officer Kishtwar to ensure the cleanliness,50% in personal capacity in classes, proper Sanitation, and social distancing besides the following of the Covid Appropriate Behaviour and other SOPs in the schools to be re-opened next week after the end of winter vacations.
All the heads of the educational institutions were asked to ensure that only vaccinated students and staff are to be allowed to attend the classes.
Concerned Tehsildars and health field functionaries were directed to monitor the vaccination and following of CAB in the schools under their jurisdiction.
During the meeting Deputy commissioner Kishtwar said that after a long gap in physical classes, there will be initial inertia which needs to be broken and heads of institutions have to play a proactive role.



He exhorted the HOIs to regulate the class strength and CAB in the classes so that the safety of the student is not compromised.
He said that administration will ensure enabling environment for schools to move towards reopening, cleaning & sanitation, flexible & staggered timings for students with the help of school education authorities.
The Deputy commissioner stressed the teachers and HOIs work with utmost dedication and maintain punctuality so that gaps in the education sector due to long closure of schools during a pandemic is plugged in.
