DC Kishtwar fine tunes the arrangements for hosting of 2-day cultural festival
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar Ashok Sharma today reviewed the arrangements for the conduct of the Cultural Festival under the ‘Promotion of Traditional and Cultural Festivals of J&K” campaign here in a meeting at his office chamber.
During the meeting, a threadbare discussion to fine-tune the arrangements was held for the successful conduct of the 2-day festival at Kishtwar viz scheduled on 11th and 12th March 2022.
It is pertinent to mention here that a Composite Cultural Festival which was earlier scheduled to be celebrated on 5th and 6th March 2022, shall now be celebrated on 11th and 12th March as per the direction of higher authorities.



In the meeting, Deputy Commissioner along with the concerned officers chalked out a comprehensive and holistic action plan for the smooth conduct of this festival in the district besides various decisions were taken and responsibilities were allotted to different departments.

The meeting also decided that the venue for the conduct of the Festival shall be at historical Prade ground Chowgan.

On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to work in tandem to make timely arrangements with regard to the establishment of the festival venue and other related arrangements, security, uninterrupted power, and water supply and power back up, medical facilities, boarding and lodging of participating artists, etc.

Additional Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Sanjeev Rana, CEO KDA Inderjeet Singh Parihar, Account Officer DC office Imran Kichloo, Assistant Cultural Officer Rashid Jehangir, Gulab Saifi besides other concerned officials attended the meeting.
