Shree Machail Mata Yatra Crosses 4000 marks in initial Days
The revered Shree Machail Yatra has commenced by crossing 4000 marks in initial days, with the auspicious opening of the Kappat (Door) at the Shree Chandi Mata Temple in Machail, Paddar of District Kishtwar.
Pertinent to mention that the celebrations on the Baisakhi Parv, marks the beginning of one of the most significant pilgrimages in the Jammu Division, second only to the Katra Mata Yatra.
The popularity of Shree Machail Yatra has soared in recent years, with over 2 Lakhs pilgrims visiting last year alone.
Pilgrims began arriving in tens following the opening of the temple doors, and the numbers grow into hundreds and thousands leading up to the holy mace (Chhari) procession in August Month.
According to official reports, the total number of pilgrims visiting the Machail Bhawan has already surpassed 4,000. Today’s darshan was performed by 26 pilgrims, including 22 males and 4 females, bringing the total to 4,106 pilgrims to date.
The weather at Machail Bhawan remains clear, ensuring a smooth experience for the devotees ahead.
The Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sh. Ramesh Kumar (IAS), in collaboration with the district administration Kishtwar and local administration, is diligently working to provide comprehensive arrangements for the Yatris,this year too.
Initially, the Aora Langer near Bhawan Machail is offering meals to the pilgrims and more langars will be provided by devotees in coming days.
Additionally, lodging facilities at the Yatri Bhawan, Sapphire Guest House by district administration Kishtwar besides various tent accommodations are available to ensure comfort for the visitors.
With the footfall expected to exceed 3 Lakhs this year, the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav (IAS), has emphasized the administration’s efforts to expedite infrastructure projects. These include enhancements to roads, water supply, footpaths,sanitation and Security to ensure a safe and pleasant journey for the pilgrims.
The addition of road Mavoo onwards on the Gulabgarh to Machail axis , new bridges, and repairs to existing infrastructure aim to provide a safe, and hassle-free experience to Yatris amid challenging geography.
The Officer informed that in coming days,the facilities as per the increasing footfall will be enhanced for the Yatris including the chopper facility from Gulabgarh to Machail,to and fro for more comfortable spiritual journey.
