One day Hand-holding Sessions/Conference held at Kishtwar under JAL JEEVAN MISSION for different stakeholders

The Project Management Consultancy Mission Directorate, Jal Jeevan Mission, J&K, in collaboration with District Administration, District Jal Jeevan Mission,Kishtwar conducted a mega handholding cum awareness programme at Conference Hall DC Office Kishtwar with an overwhelming participation of near about six hundred various stakeholders including PRIs, Pani Samiti members, ASHA Workers, Aganwari workers, field staff of Jal Shakti Department (PHE), District Project Management Unit JJM Kishtwar Staff, representatives of Implementation Support Agency, GVK Kishtwar water testing lab staff.
Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Dr. Devansh Yadav, IAS was the Chief guest on the occasion in the presence of Assistant Commissioner Panchayat Kishtwar Zakir Hussain Wani.

Assistant Executive Engineers, JEs and other officers of various departments attended the handholding sessions.
Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar in his address, highlighted the various aspects of Jal Jeevan Mission and enumerated the steps being undertaken for ensuring clean and safe drinking water to every household in district Kishtwar. He apprised the stakeholders about the JJM scheme and appreciated the role being played by PRIs and Pani Samiti members in its over-all implementation and execution of other JJM projects in various panchayats of the District Kishtwar.
He directed to rationalise the Pani Simitis in next few days as per the guidelines and emphasized on them to play a proactive role and support in executing and functioning of the schemes under JJM.
Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti (PHE) Kishtwar Shri Sunil Sharma also apprised the stakeholders about the JJM Scheme and laid emphasis on them to assist the administration so that the “Har Ghar Nal Se Jal “ mission will be successful.
He exhorted the gathering/stakeholders to put in coordinated efforts to achieve the desired results and meet the timelines targeted for completion of tasks at all levels. He also briefed about JJM Schemes which is presently going on in full pace.
From Mission Directorate, Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) Sajal Srivastava, IEC, UT Team Leader, Project Management Consultancy conducted a detailed session wherein he highlighted the various aspects of water management and over-all immediate measures and the importance of Jal Jeevan Mission for ensuring clean tap water to every household.
He said that the aim is to provide fresh tap water supply to every household in the district at a rate of 55 liters per capita per day, and other basic things related with scheme.
He deliberated on several other parameters of Jal Jeevan Mission through a power point presentation and explained in detail the role and duties of various stakeholders.
The data entry mechanism and other indicators of Jal Jeevan Mission with regard to dashboard/website was also shown via hands-on training.
Other main highlights of the handholding session by him was focused on various aspects of water, like as rainwater harvesting, usage of grey water, water quality, water-borne diseases, water saving etc for the awareness of stakeholders especially among PRIs and Pani Simitis about the mission “HAR GHAR JAL”.
Assistant Commissioner Panchayat Shri Zakir Wani also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the importance of “Soak Pits” and their benefits and other aspects of JJM.
The proceedings of todays Handholding sessions was conducted by Riaz Ahmed Butt, Coordinator, IEC, JJM, Kishtwar who also presented detailed analysis of various aspects and achievements of Jal Jeevan Mission.
