Stresses the Importance of CAB Awareness

Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Dr. Devansh Yadav (IAS) today convened a meeting to review the current COVID-19 situation in the district and assess its preparedness to tackle the pandemic.




The meeting was attended by ADDC Kishtwar Sham Lal, ADC Kishtwar Inderjeet Singh Parihar, ACR Kishtwar Varunjeet Singh Charak, SDM Paddar Dr. Rishi Kumar, CMO Kishtwar Dr. Yaqoob Mir,Dy CMO, BMOs, District Tuberculosis Officer,CEO,Nodal Officer Ayush, Superintendent DH Kishtwar,Tehsildar Kishtwar,DIO Kishtwar, EO MC Kishtwar and other concerned.

During the meeting, the CMO briefed the attendees about the status of COVID-19 in the district and informed them that there are currently two active cases. However, positivity rate in low and there is no need for immediate concern.




Although increase in testing and enhance surveillance is needed,he added.

In light of this, the DC stressed the importance of remaining vigilant and prepared for any emerging situation. He directed the Health department Kishtwar to activate flu clinics and focus on increased testing of all Severe Acute Respiratory Illness and Influenza like Illness cases.

The DC also emphasized the need for enforcing Covid Appropriate Behavior (CAB) to curb the spread of the infection. He urged people to follow CAB guidelines, including wearing masks in hospital premises by patients, health professionals, and health workers.




Furthermore, the DC highlighted the importance of generating mass awareness about CAB and the need to take precautionary measures at an early stage to combat the COVID infection. He urged the EO Municipal Council Kishtwar to make announcements on CAB within the limits of the Municipal Council and encourage people to wear face masks while visiting crowded places. Additionally, he advised the comorbid and elderly persons to avoid overcrowded places as a precautionary measure.

The meeting concluded with the DC stressing on the need for collective efforts by the public and various departments to tackle the pandemic effectively.
