Member National Commission for Minorities Rinchen Lhamo visits Gulab Garh Paddar

Hon’ble Member NCM, Rinchen Lhamo visits Gulab Garh Paddar

Holds interactive meeting with Himalayan Buddhist Cultural Society Paddar and other minority communities

KISHTWAR 28 JUNE 2022.



On the 2nd Day of her tour, Hon’ble Member, National Commission for Minorities (NCM),(MoS), Government of India, Rinchen Lhamo today visited Gulab Garh Paddar of District Kishtwar and held an interactive meeting with Himalayan Buddhist Cultural Society(HBCS) Paddar and other minority communities to listen their grievances.



 

She was accompanied by SDM Paddar Rishi Kumar Sharma, District Social Welfare Officer Kishtwar Zubair Ahmed,CDPO Drabshalla Farhat Shamim besides others concerned.



She was welcomed by the President of Himalayan Buddhist Cultural Society Paddar Padma Laton, Executive members, officials and other representatives of Himalayan Buddhist Cultural Society Paddar and other minority communities.



In her welcome speech President HBCS Paddar congratulated Rinchen Lhamo on behalf of all the Bhuddhists and minorities of Paddar area for her appointment as a member of the National Commission for Minorities, Government of India.



Padma Laton also appreciated her maiden Visit to Paddar and the kind concern for the welfare of minorities of Paddar area.

She extended her gratitude to the Government of India and UT Jammu and Kashmir for their constant support in uplifting their social, economic and educational status.



Addressing the meeting, Hon’ble Member MCM, Rinchen Lhamo, who was chief guest on the occasion spoke on the objectives of the National Minorities Commission in safeguarding the interest of minorities and uplifting them with various welfare schemes.



She added that the Minority Commission is always ready to address their grievances and work for their welfare in every possible way.

She also spoke on various social, educational and economical schemes for the welfare of varius minority communities.



As a member of the National Commission for Minorities, she assured the HBCS members and other minority communities of area so that she would work for their welfare in every possible way.



She shared in detail about the various welfare schemes and scholarships of the Ministry of Minority Affairs, GoI and stressed for awareness on mission mode basis so that benefits may reach on ground level.

She further urged the public to avail the benefits of various welfare schemes applicable for minorities.



The local representatives of minorities’ community raised various issues to the member of the National Commission for Minorities and submitted their memorandum.She reviewed the demands and took note of these issues.



The issues included Relaxation of 2 inches in height during recruitment in Belt forces and other para military forces as provided to ST category of Ladakh besides they demanded for Special reservation for S.T Bot in S.T category, U.T of J & K, Construction of Paddar – Zanskar Road via Phutkal La under defence road, Provision of basic facilities like Road connectivity, Tele communication and electricity to all the Buddhist belonging villages of Paddar Subdivision , upgradation and sanction of posts in Kabban and Lossani sub-centers to primary health centers so that the people can get medical treatment during emergencies, Helicopter facilities during winter months Nov. to March due to lack of road connectivity and Tele Communication facilities in some villages of Buddhist like (kabban,Gandhari and Sumcham).



Further they demanded for the relaxation in payment of amount on installment basis to JDA allotted land in favour of Himalayan Buddhist Cultural Society at Rajinder Nagar Jammu under Khasra No. 173 for Cultural Preservation Centre of Buddhist People of Jammu region.



Various others issues were also raised during the meeting.Taking note of their issues, Rinchen Lhamo assured them that their issues will be resolved at the earliest.



A felicitation ceremony for the minority School teachers and social workers was also held on the occasion.
