Mega 3-Day Awareness Drive in Kishtwar Concludes with 2,000+ Participants

The Department of School Education, Kishtwar, has successfully concluded a massive three-day district-level awareness programme. The event, which saw an overwhelming turnout of over 2,000 participants, brought together students, teachers, and various government departments to champion critical social causes.
Initially inaugurated at the divisional level by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of J&K, Jenab Omar Abdullah, the initiative focused on pressing issues: road safety, environmental protection, mental health, drug de-addiction, and career guidance.
A Grand Kick-off by District Administration
The district-specific leg of the campaign was officially launched by Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Shri Pankaj Kumar Sharma (JKAS), at GDC Kishtwar. Under his supervision and the guidance of CEO Kishtwar, Sh. Sanjay Dogra, the three-day event was designed to spark a movement of social responsibility among the youth.

Fostering Creativity: Poster and Slogan Competitions
On the second day, educational institutions across the district turned into hubs of creativity. A grand poster-making and slogan-writing competition allowed students to express their views on social change.
The main event took place at Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School (GBHSS), Kishtwar. After a tough evaluation, Mr. Utkarsh Shan of New Era Public School emerged as the winner of the poster-making competition, earning accolades for his impactful artwork.
Focus on Road Safety and Traffic Awareness
Beyond the arts, the drive prioritized life-saving education. District Traffic Inspector (DTI) Shri Anil Raina conducted an in-depth session on road safety. He shared vital insights on:

The importance of wearing helmets and seatbelts.

Responsible road usage to prevent accidents.
The Motor Vehicles Department (MVD), Kishtwar, complemented these efforts by distributing IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) materials to the public.
The Grand Finale: 2,000-Strong Awareness Rally
The campaign culminated in a high-energy rally flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma. Starting from the Mini Secretariat (New DC Office) and ending at TRC Kishtwar, the procession featured over 2,000 students and officials.
Participants marched with slogans that resonated through the streets of Kishtwar:
