Herbal Garden establishment as a part of Clean & Green India Mission initiates at Degree College Kishtwar

Botany Department of the Degree college kishtwar starts the Herbal garden establishment process in the college campus. Initially 1500 square feet area of the college will be covered for the herbal cum medicinal plant garden where locals herbal and medicinal plants will be planted in coming month to promote the awareness about these plants.
Local expert Mr Subash Manhas, a member of research advisory group HFRI,Shimla was invited as a special guest to give expertise about the establishment of the herbal garden and various requirements for its mantenance .
Todays event was also graced by head of institution and Principal Prof.(Dr ) Jyoti Parihar ,HOD Botany Department Prof. Faisal Mushtaq,Prof. Susheel Kumar,Prof. Ajay kumar(HOD Physics) ,Mr Dev Raj from Thakrae, Local Fund Employees and Botany students of B.Sc 3rd semester
Mr. Subash explained in detail about the soil type,favourable conditions required to grow the Herbal and medicinal plants, installation of drip irrigation facilities and its functioning .
It is pertinent to mention here that Botany Department of Degree college kishtwar has made a detailed plan to introduce several high yielding horticultural plant species in the campus in addition to establishment of Vegetable garden on modern lines in near future. Various new Add On Courses will be introduced to promote the skill ability of students and in near future the college will achieve new heights under the able Leadership of Dr. Jyoti Parihar,who herself has been a great researcher and has joined recently as college Principal.
