Deputy Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav Assures Fair Compensation and Safety Measures for Project-Affected Families of Pakal-Dul Hydroelectric Power Project in Dachhan
Kishtwar, July 6, 2023 – Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav, IAS, accompanied by a team of officers, visited the Dangduru area on Wednesday to address the grievances of the Project-Affected families (PAFs) of the Pakal Dul Hydroelectric Power Project in Dachhan.
Accompanied by Tehsildar Dachhan, R. K. Rathore, Executive Engineer PWD Division Kishtwar, Ravinder Kumar, Executive Engineer PWD Division Marwah, Mohd Aslam Lone, AEEs, CVPPL, and JP Company officials, Dr. Devansh Yadav patiently listened to the concerns of the PAFs during his interaction with them.
The primary concerns raised by the PAFs revolved around timely compensation payments. Taking note of these concerns, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar assured them of prompt action. He stated that the fruit and non-fruit compensation had been finalized, and disbursement would commence after title verification from Sounder Village onwards.
To address safety concerns, Deputy Commissioner Yadav announced that unsafe areas would be acquired based on the geologist’s report, and the affected locals would be compensated under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation, and Resettlement Act, 2013.
During his visit, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav also inspected the affected houses and directed the Tehsildar Dachhan and project authorities to ensure all precautionary measures are taken during the execution work to minimize the emission of dust and ensure the safety of the inhabitants of the area.
Furthermore, in order to prioritize the safety of nearby habitation areas, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the Tehsildar Dachhan to assess the houses that are deemed unsafe and take immediate measures for their relocation.
Emphasizing the importance of safety, Deputy Commissioner Yadav assured that the administration is committed to minimizing adverse impacts and ensuring the welfare of the inhabitants. The implementation of fair compensation and adherence to safety measures will contribute to a smooth and beneficial execution of the Pakal Dul Hydroelectric Power Project in Dachhan.
The visit and assurance by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav highlight the administration’s dedication to addressing the concerns of the Project-Affected families and prioritizing their well-being and safety.
