DDC Kishtwar reviews progress on PMDP and languishing projects
KISHTWAR, June 2nd:
District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma today reviewed the status of works under languishing projects and the Pradhan Mantri Development Projects (PMDP) here at a meeting of heads of the line departments.
Joint Director Planning, Mohammad Iqbal;CMO Kishtwar Dr Chander Prakash, Chief Education Officer, Sudershan Kumar Sharma; CAHO Dr Sanjay Sen, Executive Officer Municipal Council Tariq Balwan; Executive Engineers of PWD,PDD,PHE besides the representatives of line departments and TRANSRAIL and Shalaka Pvt. Ltd attended the meeting.
The DDC took work-wise physical and financial review of progress on projects undertaken by different departments under the languishing project and PMDP schemes.
During the meeting, Joint Director Planning Mohd Iqbal briefed the meeting that out of total 10 works undertaken in the PMDP, 8 works are in progress and 02 works namely construction of Tourism Facilitation Centre at GulabGarh and BSC Nursing College Kishtwar has been completed besides out of 49 works undertaken in the languishing projects,13 projects have been completed so far whereas 43 number of the works are in the progress and 04 works have been recommended for de-sanctioning due to litigation and unavailability of land etc.
DDC fixed the timelines for every project and directed all the concerned officers and officials to accelerate the pace of progress on all these projects so that these could be completed in a time-bound manner. He further instructed the executing agencies to ensure the quality of material used in these works.
In order to achieve tangible results in the development sector, he exhorted upon all the executing agencies to adopt a target-based approach.
Besides, he also assessed the status of technical sanctioning, administrative approval and tendering progress of several projects.
He instructed the executing agencies to ensure utilization of funds in full for completion of all pending languishing works by or before the stipulated time period.
Besides he also directed the heads of the concerned agencies to submit the action taken report to his office on regular basis for effective monitoring.
DDC further stressed on the inter-departmental coordination in the effective and efficient completion of the developmental works.
Progress on execution work of SC Hostel Govt. Degree College Kishtwar (BJRCY),Govt. Polytechnic College Kishtwar (Sub Mission on Polytechnics under the Coordinated Action for Skill Development), Construction of foot suspension bridge (114 Mtrs) at Atholi Padder,Govt. Degree College Padder and 50 bedded Integrated Ayush Hospital Indra Nagar Kishtwar besides the pace of execution of works by Shalaka and TRANSRAIL Pvt. Ltd in the district was also reviewed in the meeting.
