DC Kishtwar chaired a meeting on SBM-G Phase-II

Instructed RDD officers to ensure 100 percent door-to-door collection of waste material including plastic in all 136 Panchayats

Kishtwar, 22 November 2022:



The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav today reviewed the implementation of the Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin ( SBM-G) and Plastic Waste Management Plan under Phase II in rural areas of Kistwar district in a meeting with the concerned officers.



ADDC Kishtwar Sham Lal, ACP Kishtwar Zakir Hussain Wani, DPO Kishtwar Sunil Bhutyal, CAHO Kishtwar Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sen, EO Municipal Council Kishtwar, Executive Engineer REW Kishtwar Bashir Ahmed, All Block Development Officers attended the meeting.



During the meeting, DC Kishtwar reviewed the status/ implementation of SBM-G and the plastic waste management plan in the rural areas of the Kishtwar district in detail. It was apprised to the chair by ACP Kishtwar that in all the blocks door to door collection of waste material is going on in rural areas with a multi-dimensional strategy.



DC Kishtwar instructed the officers to sensitize the people regarding the segregation of solid and wet waste for better waste management. He also stressed better coordination among the concerned departments and PRIs so that desired results are achieved regarding the successful implementation of the Plastic Waste Management Plan and the elimination of Single Use plastic.



CAHO was directed to provide the list of villages in consultation with concerned agencies for exploring the possibility of installation of Gobardhan Bio gas Plant. EO MC Kishtwar was directed to float tender for hiring of employee under SBM-G in all 136 Panchayat so that the goal of Swachh Panchayats may achieve.

He also instructed RDD officers to ensure 100 percent door to door collection of waste material including plastic besides speed up the process of geo tagging under SBM-G.
