DC Kishtwar along with SSP Kishtwar presides over the Nasha Mukt Diwas at Panchayat Sigdi B1

To strengthen the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan in the district, the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Dr Devansh Yadav IAS along with SSP Kishtwar Khalil Ahmed Poswal (JKPS) today presided over the Special Counselling/ awareness programme under Nasha Mukht Divas organised here at Govt High School Sigdi of Panchayat Sigdi B1 of Sub-division Chatroo.
Among others who attended the programme were SDM Chatroo Inderjeet Singh Parihar,CMO Kishtwar Dr. Mohd Youqub Mir, DSWO Zubair Ahmed,BDO Saima Ramzan, ZEO Inderwal Rajiv Abrol, ,BMO Chatroo Dr. Saima , Nodal Officer Addiction Treatment Facility centre DH Kishtwar/ Drug De-addiction Counsellor Dr. Arif Rasid, SHO Chhatroo Parvaiz Ahmed, field functionaries of various departments.
Various speakers including the Nodal Officer Addiction Treatment Centre District Hospital Kishtwar Dr. Arif Rashid, Teachers and Local PRI spoke on the issue of the Drug addiction menace in the society and urged administration to make concrete efforts to eradicate the problem.
Deputy Commissioners Kishtwar while addressing the participants urged every parent to take due care of their young children through proper counselling so that the children and youth are kept away of the evils of drug abuse.
He said that Panchayt Sigdi B1 will be the first Nasha Mukht Panchayat in the district. He added that Nasha Mukt panchayat will be accomplished in 3 stages which includes the panchayat resolution and line listing of all addicts and peddlers/addicts, followed by clinical interventions for addicts and police action against peddlers & in the third and last stage rehabilitation through youth clubs and various self employment schemes of Government of all treated addicts and declaration of Nasha mukt panchayat is to be processed.
DC highlighted the role and responsibilities of the Youth club members,ICDS workers,Social welfare department,Addiction treatment centre of District Hospital Kishtwar besides religious organisations in the fight against the drug abuse.
He also threw light on the significance of games and sports besides various recreational and tourism activities rolled out by district administration Kishtwar in this regard.
Speaking on the occasion SSP Kishtwar threw light on the various soft and hard interventions taken by Police administration to curb this menace from the district Kishtwar.
A Nasha Mukt pledge was also administered on the occasion.
DC kishtwar on the occasion also listened to the grievances and demands of people of various panchayats of Block Mughalmaidan. SDM Chatroo also presented some demands submitted by locals of the Sigfi B1 Panchayat to DC Kishtwar which includes the upgradation of HS Sigdi,posting of doctors in NTPHC sigdi among others.
The Deputy Commissioner assured them that their genuine demanded and issues will be redressed in time bound manner.
Meanwhile majority of issues were redressed on spot.
Meanwhile, DC Kishtwar inspected the cracked building of the HS Sigdi and passed necessary directions to ZEO Inderwal to repair it immediately for the safety of students.
A free medical check up and screening camp was also organised side by side to the awareness programme.
