Brucellosis Vaccination and National Animal Disease Control Program(NADCP) started by the Department of Animal Husbandry at Kishtwar
The Department of Animal Husbandry Kishtwar today started Brucellosis Vaccination under National Animal Disease Control Programs (NADCP) in the entire District Kishtwar.
The Brucellosis vaccination has been introduced by Govt. of India for the very 1st time in UT of Jammu & Kashmir, in which female calves under the age of 4 to 8 months are to be vaccinated (prophylactic) which will grant a lifelong immunity against the disease.
In Kishtwar the vaccination program was kick started at village Lachdyaram by Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Kishtwar Dr. S. K. Sen, who requested the Animal breeders to get all the female calves of age group 4-8 months vaccinated and directed the staff deployed for vaccination to follow of the SOPs during vaccination and proper disposal of the used material afterwards as the diseases is of Zoonotic importance.
