DDC Kishtwar inaugurates civic work in Kishtwar Municipality
_Also presides over the block divas at Keshwan area_

District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma today inaugurated the civic work i.e designated Lane & drain work from Jamia Masjid to Islamia Faridia School which has been completed under “My Town My Pride”, with an estimated cost of Rs.6.80 lakhs. During his visit, he also listened to the grievances of the people of ward No. 6 & ward no. 8 of Kishtwar Municipality besides inspecting the Sanitation work.
He was accompanied by elected President MC Kishtwar Sajjad Ahmed Najjar, Executive Officer MC Kishtwar Taraq Balwan, XEns, SHO Kishtwar Abid Bukhari besides other concerns. Meanwhile, he also took stock of Sanitation and the progress of civic works in these wards of the Municipality. During his visit, he appealed to the local and the shopkeepers to stick to the proper Sanitation protocol by dumping the house/shop wastes in the Dust bins installed by Municipality at designated places. Meanwhile, he exhorted upon the Municipal authorities to rope in the NCC and NSS volunteers to sensitize and make people aware of the Sanitation habits.
While examining the civic works in the different wards, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Xen PHE and Xen PWD to strictly follow the guidelines in the repair of the Lane and drains in the town of Kishtwar and laying of water pipelines in these lanes. The President MC Kishtwar and EO MC Kishtwar were asked to monitor the pace and quality of works being executed within the Municipal limits.
Stressing on the availability of the public toilet facility for the visitors he stressed the Municipal authorities to install the toilet facilities at the Gudhali Chowk and in the Mini Bus stand Kishtwar so that visitors and commuters may experience comfort. Later in the afternoon, DDC Kishtwar visited the Keshwan area and presided over the Block Diwas- Public Grievance Redressal Camp. During his visit, he was accompanied by ADDC Kishtwar Sham Lal, ACD Kishtwar, Atul Dutt Sharma, DDC member Shareefa Begum, BDO Thakrie, NT Keshwan, Sarpanch Keshwan, Locals, PRIs, concerned officers besides locals and prominent citizens of the area remained present.
During Block Divas, various locals issues and demands pertaining to education, health, road, water, and up-gradation of other basic amenities were highlighted by the PRIs and locals. DDC gave patient hearing to their grievances/demands and assured them of timely redressal besides on spot directions were given to concerned officers. He directed Naib Tehsildar Keshwan to regularly check the punctuality in various govt offices/schools under his jurisdiction and submit daily reports.
Besides asked him to play a proactive role in resolving the issue of people at their doorstep.
