Machail Mata :

The Maa Durga Sathan popularly known as Machail Mata derived its name from the village Machel where the temple is located. The village Machel is located in the district Kishtwar of Jammu and Kashmir (India).

In 1834, Jorawar Singh had sought blessings of Maa Durga at Machel before advancing to Laddakh in 1834. Zorawar Singh had no trouble in crossing the mountain ranges and entering Ladakh through the source of the Suru River where his 5000 men defeated an army of local Botis. After his miraculous victory he became faithful devotee of Maa Durga. Maa Durga is supposed to present in ‘Sakshat Roop’ in the Temple Of Machail.

Terms and Conditions:

1. The owners shall get their rooms to reigistration register be maintained basic address etc. meant for the rental purpose registered from Tehsil office Machail and shall maintain the receipt properly issued by the Tehsil Office.
2. The owners shall furnish their rooms for rental purposes in advance.
3. The check out of each room / tent shall be 12 noon exactly the next day.
4. The owners shall provide clean and sufficient bedding to the Yatries as per weather conditions.
5. The owners shall maintain their rooms neat and clean in every respect and no environmental degradation is allowed.

Violation of rules shall lead the disciplinary action against the defaulter and cancellation of registration.
