IEC Campaign under NMBA Kick-started in ULB Wards of Municipal Council Kishtwar

In a significant move to address the escalating issue of drug abuse, an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Awareness Campaign was successfully launched in the Urban Local Body (ULB) wards of District Kishtwar under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Initiative.

The campaign, conducted under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar, Sh. Rajesh Kumar Shavan, JKAS, has received an overwhelming response from the local community.

The inaugural event of the campaign was held in Ward No. 1 of the ULB, where informative sessions were led by resource persons from eight key departments, including Health, Police, Education, Rural Development Department (RDD), and Ex-PRIs. These Resource Persons were nominated by the District administration to help raise awareness and educate the public about the severe consequences of drug abuse.

During the sessions, the resource persons provided crucial insights into the damaging effects of drug abuse, covering its physical and mental health impacts, as well as its broader social and economic consequences.

The campaign was executed with great attention to detail, under the able guidance of Nodal Officer IEC/DSWO Kishtwar, Zubair Ahmed, JKAS, ensuring a comprehensive outreach to the public.
