DDC Kishtwar reviews the arrangements for the forthcoming Annual Shri Machail Mata Yatra

Stressed upon the concerned departments to start the preparedness well in time to ensure the arrangements are put in place well in advance

District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Ashok Sharma (JKAS) today chaired a meeting of concerned Line department officers here at his office chamber, DC office complex Kishtwar to review the arrangements put in place for smooth conduct of the forthcoming Annual Yatra to the Machail Mata Shrine.



The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Kishori Lal Sharma, CEO KDA/SDM Chatroo Inderjeet Singh Parihar,ACR Kishtwar Varunjeet Singh Charak,ACD Kishtwar Atul Dutt Sharma,SDM Paddar Rishi Kumar ,GM NHIDCL,CMO Kishtwar, BDO Nagseni/Paddar Abhay Indu Sharma, Xen PMGSY Mohinder Sen, Engineers of JPDCL, PWD, PMGSY ,PHE besides other concerned officers. At the outset, the DDC Kishtwar inquired about the overall infrastructure development requirements in the shrine area for the smooth conduct of Yatra and directed the concerned officers to initiate the process of the assessment of the required Infrastructure on a priority basis so that the required work is started immediately for timely completion.



The meeting was informed that in compliance with the Hon’ble High Court J&K Judgment, the District Administration Kishtwar has been entrusted to manage and conduct the Shri Machail Mata Yatra this year,in this regard he asked all the concerned departments to work in tandem for the successful conduct of Yatra. The DDC directed the concerned District officers to constitute a District level committee that shall collaborate and co-ordinate for the effective management and smooth conduct of Yatra. While reviewing annual Yatra arrangements which generally start from July 25, it was enjoined upon all the departments to take up varied works for the development of basic facilities, roads, power supply, buildings etc in the Shrine area. He stressed upon all the concerned officers to identify the places for the establishment of langars, temporary toilets, and medical Booths on the en route national highway and roads.



Stressing on the timely completion of the work on the PMGSY road to the shrine, District Development Commissioner Kishtwar directed the Xen PMGSY to complete the approaching road ahead of the commencement of Machail Mata Yatra for smooth conduct of said Yatra. He directed SDM Paddar to keep a close monitor on the pace of the said road and share the daily progress in his office. Besides Xen RnB was directed to ensure the up-gradation and maintenance of bridal paths to the shrine for the ease of pilgrims.



Concerned Officers were also asked to ensure the timely repairment and up-gradation of all bridges lying along the route of the shrine from GulabGarh to Machail for the hassle-free and safe movements of the pilgrims during Yatra besides asked to submit the technical guidance immediately so that the allotted works are taken up and completed in a time-bound manner. Meanwhile, the Health Department was asked to make necessary arrangements for the establishment of the Health Booths at various designated places for the safety of pilgrims. Besides ARTO Kishtwar was directed to chalk out a comprehensive transport plan and also fix the enroute charges for the hassle-free movement of pilgrims during the Yatra.



District Development Commissioner Kishtwar also asked for the constitution of a Technical Guidance Team at the district level comprising the members from each department which shall work in a coordinated manner for the development of the infrastructure in the area. Regarding the power supply facility, the JPDCL authorities were directed to restore the damaged 11 KV power line on a priority basis. Security and logistics arrangements for the smooth and safe conduct of the Holy Yatra were also reviewed during the meeting and necessary directions were given to the concerned officers.

DDC Kishtwar stressed upon the concerned departments to start the preparedness well in time to ensure the arrangements are put in place well in advance.
