The two-day expedition led by Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav IAS, and his dedicated team to the secluded Kuntwara region of District Kishtwar concluded successfully today. This extraordinary journey involved an extensive 12-hour trek by Deputy Commissioner Yadav and his team to reach the remote Kuntwara area.

Historically, since 1947, though various officials have visited the region, this marked the first time a Deputy Commissioner reached the Shandri Panchayat of Kuntwara. This remarkable accomplishment signifies a significant step towards addressing local grievances and advancing developmental initiatives by the Kishtwar District Administration.

The entourage included key members such as ACD Kishtwar Manoj Kumar, AD FCS & CA Shafkat Keen, BDO Drabshalla, CMO Kishtwar Dr. M Y Mir, Chief Agriculture Officer Kishtwar Amjad Hussain Malik, Naib Tehsildars, AEE PMGSY Rajesh Sharma, alongside officials and field functionaries from various departments.



During the two-day visit, a public grievance redressal camp was organized in Batkoot village of Kuntwara, in line with the Weekly Block Diwas program. This camp drew the participation of numerous local residents, prominent individuals, and members of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs).

The camp was attended by BDC Chairman Drabshalla Suraj Singh, district officers, AEE Jal Shakti Naveed Ahmed, and officials and field staff from revenue, RDD, agriculture, and other line departments.

During the public grievance redressal camp, PRIs highlighted concerns related to the improvement of local infrastructure in water, power, roads, healthcare, education, and agriculture sectors. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav patiently listened to their grievances and promptly resolved several issues through coordination with relevant department officials.



At the camp, plans were discussed to expedite the PMGSY survey for the Ohli Shandri road and enhance road connectivity in the area. PWD authorities received directives to expedite the construction of the Kahaie road under NABARD.

Furthermore, Animal and Sheep Husbandry departments planned camps to benefit farmers and animal husbandry beneficiaries during the public grievance redressal camp.

Deputy Commissioner Yadav committed to establishing a Red Cross Emergency Health Center with a nurse and pharmacist within one month, along with coordinating the establishment of an Ayush Center in the area. Additionally, he assured the provision of winter tuition facilities for remote villages of Kuntwara in the upcoming winter season to improve education access.

During the camp, under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme, applications from farmers were received, and seed packets were distributed in the presence of CAO Amjad Hussain Malik.



The promotion of online government services through mobile devices was encouraged to enhance public convenience. Feasibility studies for post office banking facilities in the area were initiated to provide essential financial services to the residents.

A visit to HS Bhatkoot Kuntwara by Deputy Commissioner highlighted the need for school repairs and improved lighting facilities, which were promptly addressed.

Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar emphasized the importance of activating school management committees to ensure community-driven school education monitoring in the area.

On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Yadav directed the expeditious implementation of ongoing water supply schemes under the Jal Jeevan Mission to ensure tap water access to every household.

In his address, DC Kishtwar encouraged the youth and common masses to avail themselves of government initiatives like HADP, PMMVY, and AVSAR for their benefit.

The people of Kuntwara expressed their gratitude for the efforts of the District Administration Kishtwar, considering this visit a historic event and a testament to the commitment of good governance and grievance redressal at their doorstep.
