ADDC Kishtwar Kick started the Plantation Driver under production system component of IWMP at Kishtwar
Kishtwar, March 13.
Additional District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Sham Lal today kick started the Plantation Drive here in programme organised under production system component of the
Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP) of Department of Land Resources (DoLR).
The programme was organised here at Tourism Reception Centre TRC Kishtwar under the close supervision of Project Manager , IWMP Kishtwar Zakir Hussain Wani.
Among others who participated in the programme were Chairperson,BDC Kishtwar, Suresh Sharma, Sarpanch Pyt Hidyal, Matta A ,B Pochal A-1 and 2 besides chairman watershed Committees and other prominent persons from different areas of IWMP Project 1 of district Kishtwar.
It is pertinent to mention that IWMP is distributing the saplings of the apple and other fruit bearing trees under production system component 1 and 4 more components designated for the district will conducted soon.
Speaking on the occasion ADDC Kishtwar stressed PRIs to rope the locals/ youths in the the plantation drive under production system Component of the IWMP as it is the preemptive initiative to the protection of the soil erosion and conservation of the ground water in the Hilly areas like ours, District Kishtwar.
Meanwhile, reiterating what ADDC Kishtwar said PM, IWMP Zakir Hussain Wani said that watershed Department are conducting many other programme to prevent the soil erosion in the district particularly in in vulnerable and flood prone areas to counter the catastrophies and other flood prone threats in the areas and is leaving no stone unturned.
