76th Independence Day Celebrated at Kishtwar with gaiety and patriotic Zeal
DDC Chaiperson Kishtwar hoisted the Tricolour at District Headquater and BDC Chairpersons hoisted Tricolour at Block Hqs.

The 76th Independence Day was today celebrated across the district kishtwar at district,block and tehsil headquarters and in all govt and private institutions with great enthusiasm ,fervor and national spirit.
The main function was held here at Historic Chowgan Ground Kishtwar wherein the people from all walks of life participated.
Chairperson, District Development Council Kishtwar Mrs. Pooja Thakur who was Chief guest on the occassion hoisted the tricolor, inspected the contingents besides alos took salute of March past comprising contingents drawn from District police,
CRPF, CISF, IRP,Home guard, Forest Protection Force,NCC wing (Boys and Girls)
GDC and GHSS Kishtwar besides Students of Govt and Private schools.

Earlier,the programme started with Shehnai Vadan played by District Information Centre Kishtwar at office of MC Kishtwar besides at main Venue.
Speaking on the occasion DDC chairperson Kishtwar extended heartiest greetings to the people of the kishtwar on this auspicious occasion of National importance and highlighted the sacrifices of the frontline leaders and heroes during freedom struggle.
During her speech she listed the achievements made in the developmental sector in the district which includes the works taken up under the PMGSY, PMDP, Jal Jiwan Mission, PMAY, Ayushman Bharat sehat etc in the district .
She said that out of total targeted 1185.14 kms of Road, the black topping on 855.42 kms has been completed which includes the roads to Margan Top,Warwan and Marwah areas besides the completion of motorable road to Sounder Dachhan is a historical achievement in the sector,she lauded.
She added that out of total targeted population of 2,09,231 to be covered under PM-Jan Arogya Yojna about 68 percent of beneficiaries have registered so far in the district.She appealed the leftout beneficiaries to get registered under the scheme.
Besides she informed that under PMAY (G) 4647 houses has been completed out of total sanctioned cases of 5897 , meanwhile 145 houses have been completed out of 405 sanctioned cases under PMAY (U).
Under PMDP, 11 projects worth Rs 108.32 crores were sanctioned as iconic projects in the District,out of which 4 projects have been completed which includes B.SC Nursing College Kishtwar and TFC Gulab Garh Paddar, the work on the rest of projects are in full swing.
She informed that under flagship Jal Jivan Mission a total of 29301 houses have been provided tap water facility in the district,besides 129 works have been tendered and allotments will be made soon.
DDC chairperson mentioned that during current financial year 2500 works have been taken up under District Capex Budget,out of which 415 works have been completed till date.Besides under MGNREGA 10588 works have been taken which includes construction of Soakage pits and compost pit to each house and Amrit Sarovar to each Panchayat.
DDC chairperson lauded the efforts of govt of J&K in launching the online services and online portals like “Janbhagidari” portal and “Apni Zameen Apne Nigrani” and “Land PassBook” initiative in UT , which has contributed towards effective and efficient public service delivery for the ease of people.
Now people can have one click access to land record and physical and financial status of developmental Works of their areas,she mentioned.
She also highlighted the achievements under PM-POSHAN,B2V3,Social Security Schemes,e-Shram,Self Employement Schemes, Agriculture and allied sector,PM Matru Vandana Yojna,Biometric attendence mechanism and urged for the cooperation of the people of Kishtwar in the effective implementation of these schemes.
On the occasion DCC chairperson appreciated the efforts of the District administration particularly the frontline workers from Police, Army, Health, Education & civil administration in effective management and containment of Drugs Menace and appealed the parents,students, religious and Social organisations to play a proactive role in the eradication of this social evil from our society and make this district a Nasha Mukht District.
She congratulated people of Kishtwar and District Administration Kishtwar for making the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign and “online National Anthem singing” competition a grand success in the District.
An array of Cultural items were also presented by school students during the programme which enthralled the participants with patriotism.
Dedicated officers,employees and students with meritorious and exemplary work were conferred awards on the occasion.
