Hudh Mata Yatra 2026: Meeting Convened to Finalise Yatra Arrangements

Hudh Mata Yatra 2026: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Sh. Pankaj Kumar Sharma (JKAS), today convened a meeting of district and sectoral officers to finalise elaborate arrangements for the smooth, secure, and successful conduct of the Annual Shree Hudh Mata Trisandhiya Yatra–2026, scheduled to commence on July 15, 2026.

As per the notified schedule, the Holy Mace (Charri Mubarak) shall reach Shri Gauri Shankar Mandir, Sarkoot, Kishtwar, on July 16, 2026.



The Deputy Commissioner undertook a comprehensive review of all logistical, infrastructural, and safety-related arrangements to ensure a seamless and hassle-free pilgrimage experience for devotees. Stressing inter-departmental coordination and proactive execution, he issued a slew of directions aimed at augmenting public convenience and ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.

Infrastructure & Logistics Directions

  • Desilting of drains and upkeep of roads along the Yatra route
  • Uninterrupted potable water supply at all key locations
  • Clean and adequate sanitation facilities at critical locations, including Shri Gauri Shankar Mandir
  • Improvement of infrastructure from Kishtwar to Shri Hudh Mata Bhawan
  • Adequate solar lighting and uninterrupted electricity supply
  • Accommodation facilities and transportation arrangements for pilgrims
  • Robust healthcare services, deployment of medical teams, ambulances, and free medicines

Security & Disaster Preparedness

The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed security and disaster preparedness measures. Senior Superintendent of Police, Kishtwar, Sh. Naresh Singh (JKPS), assured comprehensive security arrangements, including advance deployment of personnel, strategic surveillance, and effective crowd management mechanisms. SDRF teams shall also be deployed at vulnerable points along the Yatra route.



Environmental Sanctity & Cleanliness

To maintain environmental sanctity and cleanliness, directions were issued for installation of dustbins, sanitation drives at all Langer (community kitchen) sites, and dissemination of awareness messages encouraging eco-friendly practices among pilgrims. A public advisory shall also be issued in this regard.

The Chief Executive Officer, Municipal Council Kishtwar, and Block Development Officer, Kishtwar, were specifically directed to ensure meticulous sanitation, cleanliness, and desilting of drains in and around Shri Gauri Shankar Mandir, Sarkoot.

The District Traffic Inspector, Kishtwar, was directed to formulate and implement a foolproof traffic management plan to regulate vehicular movement during the Yatra.

The Shree Hudh Mata Trisandhiya Yatra is one of the most revered annual pilgrimages in Kishtwar district. The journey to Shri Hudh Mata Bhawan draws thousands of devotees each year, forming an important part of Kishtwar’s living spiritual heritage.

Sanatan Dharma Sabha & Yatra Committee Raise Issues

During the meeting, representatives of the Sanatan Dharma Sabha, led by its President, Mahant Ram Saran Dass Ji Maharaj, along with members of the Shri Hudh Mata Yatra Management Committee, raised various issues and suggestions. The Deputy Commissioner responded with on-the-spot directions and reiterated the unwavering commitment of the District Administration towards facilitating a safe and spiritually enriching pilgrimage.
