DC Kishtwar Conducts Inspection of Historic Chowgan Ground

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar, Sh. Rajesh Kumar Shavan (JKAS), today conducted a detailed inspection of the historic Chowgan Ground, Kishtwar.
During the visit, the DC issued a series of directives aimed at enhancing the aesthetic and cultural value of the site. The DC Kishtwar gave on-spot directions for the ongoing work, including the development of flower beds along the periphery of the ground, construction of entry gates, and other beautification measures to preserve and promote the heritage significance of Chowgan Ground. He said that a few elements are trying to trigger the controversy of allowing cattle inside as a matter of right, but the same shall have to be checked and regulated.
No unauthorized person can be allowed to permit grazing of cattle inside without a grazing permit.
In addition, the DC emphasized the importance of cleanliness and directed the Chief Executive Officer, KDA, and the Executive Officer, Municipal Council Kishtwar, to ensure comprehensive sanitation and maintenance of the area. The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by CEO KDA Kishtwar, Rishi Kumar Sharma; Deputy Registrar Cooperatives/EO Municipality Kishtwar, Mirza Mumtaz Iqbal,District Information Officer, Dr. Kuldeep Kumar; and other concerned officers and officials.
